Quilts
This
was the first quilt I ever pieced but not by a long shot the first I
ever completed. It was machine pieced and a combination of
machine and hand quilted. It has a cotton batting and was
planned
for machine quilting but is a full/queen sized quilt and was very
difficult to maneuver under a regular machine throat. The
chained
areas were machine quilted and the open areas were hand quilted.
This
was my first Lone Star quilt. Machine pieced and quilted.
Not very well pressed or blocked, but that is really not my
strong suit and tougher with these (I usually have to cheat and resew a
lot of seams on these stars).
This
is a Lone Star quilt with embroidered primitive deer in the corners I
made for my sister's $1,000,00 sofa. They have a deer farm,
hence
the deer. All machine pieced and quilted.
This
is another Lone Star, all machine pieced and quilted with machine
embroidered hearts in the corners. This one has minky fleece
for
the backing... soft. The binding isn't quite finished on this
one
but it did eventually get sewn down.
This
is a Celtic Knot Applique Quilt. The applique and quilting
are
done by hand. The piecing is done by machine. This
was the
first quilt I started making for my husband, who was born in Belfast
Ireland. It was not however the first that I finished.
This
was my first Stack and Wack quilt. Not
too bad, but I should learn to take more pictures! Machine pieced and
quilted. Made for the 1st baby of a very good friend of mine.
This
is a Stack-n-Wack fan quilt, all machine pieced and quilted with black
minkee dots on the back. This is the first quilt I actually
finished for my husband, I had to whip something up so I could stop
hearing how everyone else was getting quilts and I never finished
his...
This
is another Stack-n-Wack quilt I made for my sister when they built
their new house, all machine pieced and quilted.
This
is another Stack-n-Wack quilt with a dolphin motif, all machine pieced
with bright orange furry fleece on the back. There is no
batting
and it is tied. I'll add a full photo with the borders when I
get
one. This one is all mine.
And
this is a matching irish chain quilt with embroidered dolphins, all
machine pieced
with bright orange silky fleece on the back because that is Maggi's
favorite. This one has batting but
it is also tied. I haven't finished it yet but this one is
for
the best dog in the world, Maggi Mae... I promise I'll finish it puppy!
This
is a small crazy quilt I made for my little Maggi. It was
made using a muslin foundation to attach the pieces to then the
embroidering and embellishing was done. This quilt is backed with
orange silky fleece so it's nice and soft for cuddling.

This
is a small stained glass style quilt I designed myself. The black
binding is machine stitched down and the finished piece is hand
quilted. I would say wall hanging but I always leave it on the glass
table in the sunroom. Flamingos make me think of the Florida
Keys.... which is where I wish I was most of the time!
These are
fabric postcards for my nephew's kids for Easter. I have made a
few in the past for other holidays and birthdays and sent them through
the mail with no problem.
